The recipient of a master of arts in administration from Central Michigan University, Tony DiTucci is an experienced construction project manager who serves as the vice president of DGA Builders. Outside of his work, Tony DiTucci is an active supporter of numerous nonprofit organizations, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Established in 1984, NCMEC is the leading resource center for issues related to sexually exploited and missing children. The organization has helped law enforcement locate more than 250,000 missing children.
Unfortunately, the outside world isn't the only dangerous place for children today - the Internet can be a scary place wrought with predators and sexually-explicit images and videos. However, there are a number of proactive measures you can take to help your child safely navigate the online world.
First, establish ground rules and basic guidelines, such as the sites your kids can visit, whether they can have social media profiles, and the number of messages they can send per month. Additionally, you can install monitoring software on the computer to track your children's Internet usage.
However, these steps will not ensure the safety of your kids. You still need to talk to them regularly about their Internet activity and the potential dangers. If you suspect that your child is the victim of predators or cyber bullies, contact your local law enforcement agency.
